2018 Firefly Charity Gala was held at Shanghai Okura Garden Hotel on the evening of December 19. It is the tenth consecutive year for SSCLF - Bank of East Asia Public Welfare Fund to hold such grand event. Caring entrepreneurs and philanthropists from all walks of life came together to participate in and witness a warm and melted charity auction. A total of RMB 8.47 million yuan raised at the gala will be used to support a series of public welfare projects which have improved the educational conditions for rural children. Over the past decade, the Bank of East Asia Public Welfare Fund has raised RMB 82.33 million yuan, to promote the implementation of the three core projects, “The Firefly Project”, “Bank of East Asia University Student Grant Project” and “NGO Public Welfare Project Funding Scheme”. These projects not only improve the hardware education conditions for many rural schools, but also bring them high-quality soft resources such as teachers and curriculums, benefiting tens of thousands children in poor areas in China.
