The concept and characteristics of the “Soong Ching Ling Charitable Book Stacks Project” are comprehensive, three-dimensional and rich in content. Besides sending a great many books to the schools in rural areas, the project has invited well-known teachers and writers to go and give targeted reading guidance to local teachers and students in remote mountainous areas of Yunnan, Hunan, Guizhou, Hainan, Anhui provinces and other places.

    The project has invited famous writers, outstanding primary school Chinese teachers and many children's book editors as reading guidance volunteers to the aid areas to train local principals and teachers in methods to arouse students' interests in good books. The interactive activities of fun reading, conducted in local kindergartens, primary schools and junior high schools, have been warmly welcomed by the local governments, schools, families and students.
