On the morning of June 3, 2019, a book donation ceremony was held at the Private Zhonghe Kindergarten in Minhang district, Shanghai. The Xuele Publishing Group donated a total of 1000 children's English books, which would be used as supplementary English books for Stepping Stones Program, and expand the extracurricular English reading materials for students of migrant workers in the Wenhe Primary School and children in the Zhonghe Kindergarten in Minhang district.
Mrs. Corinne Hua, founder and executive director of Stepping Stones China, and the representative of Xuele Group presented the books to the students of migrant workers.
The Stepping Stones China is proud that classes taught by its volunteers been proven to increase students exam results, increase their confidence and interest in English, better prepare students for their key examinations, and expose youth to cross-cultural programing. By organizing foreign professionals and overseas returned students living in Shanghai as volunteers, the project provides free English teaching to the children of migrant workers in their schools and community centers every week, helping them integrate into the society as soon as possible and bridging the gap in education and employment.
