This year witnesses the 35th anniversary of SSCLF’s establishment. In order to further carry on the philanthropic spirit of Mme. Soong Ching Ling, enhance professional capacity, improve professional learning and share professional practice, SSCLF has launched the “SSCLF Forum”.
On the afternoon of March 12, 2021, Ms. Ma Yili, former Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, currently Executive Director of the Social Policy Research Committee of Chinese Sociological Association and member of the Expert Committee of the Shanghai Community Research Association, gave a lecture entitled “Issues related to the development of private public welfare organisations in contemporary China”, marking the start of “SSCLF Forum”.
Director Ma talked about the historical process of establishing and perfecting the laws and regulations related to public welfare and charity in China, analysed the respective characteristics of social organisations, private non-enterprise units and charitable foundations, and introduced the vital role of charitable public welfare organisations in the progress of social organisations. Thanks to her rich practical experience and in-depth theoretical thinking, Director Ma brought a wealth of professional knowledge and practical cases of public welfare to the staff of SSCLF.
