On the afternoon of June 22, 2021, Professor Wen Jun, Dean of School of Social Development, East China Normal University, gave a lecture entitled “On the Role Dilemma of Social Organizations and Their Operational Strategies” at the “Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation Forum”. Professor Wen Jun presented the current situation and characteristics of social organizations in China, the dilemma of the role, the function and orientation, and the direction of development of social organizations, etc. Through numerous examples, he vividly presented the situation of social organizations and explained the need to strengthen their social foundation with professional and vocational social work services.

The lecture was attended by representatives of Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation’s public welfare partners and special funds, students from East China Normal University, and all staff of SSCLF. After the lecture, the participants shared their experiences and feelings about the difficulties and challenges faced by social organizations in recruiting staff, training talents and implementing projects.
