SSCLF’s Farmer Entrepreneurship Relay Baton - Anqing Huaining County Project in Anqing, Anhui was launched this quarter! Thanks for the recommendation of the Agricultural Committee! Mr. Xie Sijun, project volunteer, general manager, Huangshan branch, Anhui, China Ping An Property Insurance Co. Ltd., and his team have inspected many times and verified the project and farmers. This is the third relay baton project site in Anqing. Project director Cao Yunsheng will lead 20 project households to plant single-season rice, Liangyou 688, and Liangyou 8010.

Anhui Wuhu Vegetable Project Director: Liu Yonggui

SSCLF’s Farmer Entrepreneurship Relay Baton-Anhui Wuhu Luyu Project has started! This is the first project in Wuhu. Thanks for the recommendation of the Agriculture Commission! Wang Peng, project volunteer, general manager, Wuhu Branch, China Ping An Property Insurance Co. Ltd., and his team has made great effort for the project. Project director Liu Yonggui organized 50 project households to participate in a training on greenhouse vegetable technology this quarter. The cooperative started cutting Artemisia selengensis and field management at the seedling stage. Before cutting Artemisia selengensis, the project households plowed the soil, applied basal fertilizer, and chemically weeded. After cutting Artemisia selengensis, they watered, fertilized and prevented diseases and insects, and weeded in time.

Shanghai Qingpu Vegetable Project Director: Chen Junfang

Volunteers: Li Jinhui, Gu Daying

Mr. Jiang Liang, SSCLF’s chairman, and his party came to Linjia Village, a demonstration village for rural revitalization in Zhujiajiao town, Qingpu district, Shanghai, and met with some project households. With the participation of the project sponsors and the leadership of the project directors and volunteers, the project households have planted green rice in the past year, and their lives have undergone gratifying changes. They wish the humanistic countryside more and more beautiful!

The main work of the project households this quarter is bee management and honey harvesting. This year, 3800 new bee colonies were added and 63 tons of honey were harvested.

The main work this quarter is irrigation, weeding, disease prevention and pest control in paddy fields. The cooperatives sent technicians to check on the paddy fields of 20 households and provided technical guidance.

Southeast Guizhou Tea Garden Chicken Raising Project Director: Hou Zhenghong

The average weight of 20,000 Luhua chickens from the 20 project households reached 1.75 kg and the chicken are growing well. The chicken have entered a period of high egg production. In July, the cooperatives organized project households to conduct training on breeding techniques during the egg laying period, and in August, the cooperatives organized project households to conduct safety management training.

Southeast Guizhou Uncaria Rhynchophylla Project Director: Wu Zengxian

The main work of the 23 project households in Phase 2 this quarter is to manage the old and new tea gardens. In September, the cooperatives organized project households to participate in the China Anhui (Hefei) High-Quality Agricultural Products Fair and visit on-site training.

Anhui Guangde Rice Project Director: Lu Shiping

The main work of the 10 project households this quarter is field drainage, fertilization, plant protection, and harvesting and sales of ratooning rice. The high-quality mid-late rice is growing well. The ratooning rice yields 550 kg per mu, an increase of 50 kg/mu, compared with last year, and the sales price is 256 yuan per 100 kg.

The main work of the 30 project households in Phase 2 this quarter is plowing fields, planting rice seedlings, and picking peaches. Mid-late rice is in the stage of ploughing and transplanting, with early rice harvesting, and the last batch of peaches picking.

The main work of project households this quarter is production management, harvesting, and sales of water bamboo. On August 19, the cooperatives organized Yu Feifei, a researcher from the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hu Heqing, deputy director of the County Rural Agriculture Bureau, and Chu Haifeng, director of the Vegetable Office, to the project household base for a training on water bamboo harvesting and seedling cultivation.

Hubei Wuhan Honey Project Director: He Dehua

The main work of 21 project households this quarter is to collect wolfberry honey, a small amount of wattle honey and luan tree honey, and prepare bees for breeding in autumn, and to prevent diseases and treat bee mites. On September 8, the cooperatives organized project households to participate in the training on how to open online stores and live broadcast operations.
