SSCLF’s Farmer Entrepreneurship Relay Baton Anhui Xuancheng Xuanzhou District Project started in December. This project was recommended by the local agriculture committee, and was established after many inspections and verifications by Ping An volunteer Yu Zhilai and his team. It is the third relay baton project in Xuancheng. Project director Li Chaomu will lead 20 project households to carry out natural ecological farming and operate free-range eggs in tea forests. May the project households accompany their families and live better and better!

China Anhui Anqing Paddy Rice Project Director: Cao Yunsheng

The main work of project households this quarter is rice harvesting and drying. The output of rice increased by 120 kg/mu compared with last year. All the rice was harvested, dried and sold in early November. On November 20, the cooperatives organized 8 project households to participate in the emergency drill of agricultural machinery accidents held by Huaining County.

Anhui Wuhu Vegetable Project Director: Liu Yonggui

The main work of the project households this quarter is field management and shed control, specifically including top dressing, watering, disease control and weeds, and covering the greenhouse film, etc. At present, Yunnan Artemisia selengensis is being harvested. The yield of Artemisia selengensis per mu is generally 1,500 kg, and the selling price of Artemisia selengensis is generally 8 yuan per kg. On November 22, the cooperatives organized some project households to visit and study in the urban agricultural industrial park.

Shanghai Qingpu Vegetable Project Director: Chen Junfang

The main work of 10 project households this quarter is to harvest rice and plant other crops. On October 16, the cooperatives organized some project households to participate in the agricultural products market in Linjia Village, Qingpu, Shanghai.

The main work of project households this quarter is to manage bees and harvest honey in winter. This quarter is the hibernation period of bees. In 2021, the project households added 6,800 new bee colonies, and the average income of each project household increased by 12,000 yuan.

The main work this quarter is to harvest rice and plant wheat. Some project households have achieved a high yield of 700 kg/mu of hybrid rice. On December 10, the cooperative organized all 20 project households to participate in the technical training session on increasing wheat production and income.

Southeast Guizhou Tea Garden Chicken Raising Project Director: Hou Zhenghong

The 20,000 Luhua chickens of 20 households have an average weight of 1.75 kg each and are growing well. Some of them can be sold before the Spring Festival. In October, the cooperatives organized the project households to participate in the training of breeding technology, in November, in the training of safety management, and in December, in the training of chicken slaughtering and deep processing technology.

The harvest of high-quality rice is about 575 kg per mu, and the sales price is 270 yuan per 100 kg. The main work of the 21 project households this quarter is to collect camellia pollen. Some of the project households carry out strawberry pollination for the strawberry base in Huangpi District, begin to imprison the queen bee, treat mites, and prepare bee food for the bee colony to survive the winter smoothly. In November, the cooperatives organized project households to participate in e-commerce training activities, mainly focusing on short video live broadcasts to sell goods.
